Outlawed audits, you’d be concerned.

The swing state of Florida is still in play

With outcomes unclear after Election Day.

So it’s back to a recount in this state,

Which is slightly alarming, and might recreate

A tough situation which was pretty bad.

Remember those days of hanging chad?

Results are in and there’s no surprise

A nation divided is still the reprise.

There was never to be a big blue wave

The pollsters are living inside some rave.

But our nation is built on balances and checks.

And the new House makeup this reflects.

It is so annoying to hear it said

“Get out and vote!” unless you’re dead.

Everyone knows it to be true

And everyone tells it to their crew.

Yet 60% of us will not show!

So stop your squawking unless you go.

Some interesting thoughts about this hue

It stands for so much, the color blue.

It speaks of clean oceans and a bright crisp sky,

And in states of this color they still ask “why?”

Yes, this color still stands for things that are sad,

Like the Mooch and his keeper being so bad.

It raises an interesting question now

About what a hero really is, and how

Do we think about the things they do

To protect the innocent and others too.

At the very least one would hope that

A hero would reach beyond the red hat.

I’ve no problem with making a buck.

News is a business and I wish it good luck.

But there’s something a bit disturbing

About the profits people are earning

Covering Donnie and the political zoo.

Not hard to think conspiracies are true.

Never mind the 8 years of previous gains

That started in a place of near-death pain.

And arguably were caused by lack of attention

To avarice and greed and not to mention

Lack of regulation where it’s needed most.

Fact is, these results are something to toast!

There’s such a bond between dog and boy.

Perhaps rooted in their undisguised joy

Taking delight in the simple pleasures

Offered by nature’s beautiful treasures.
