RIP, Mr. Bond…

I suppose it pegs me at a certain age,

Everyone I know is on the same page –

Sean Connery will for us always stand

As the real James Bond, in command.

Others have done a great job in the role

But this 007 gave it a soul.

Pretty chilling

If I had to make a bet on the outcome

There is no doubt I’d need some rum.

I think Donnie takes the Electoral College

And then will be unlikely to acknowledge

That the popular vote was lost by a mile

Further polarizing the nation, per his style.

I’ll say

Leon Black runs a PE firm named Apollo

And his explanation here is a bit hard to swallow.

Apollo, the god of healing, leader of the Muses,

Would unlikely be fond of Leon’s excuses.

Hard to imagine there won’t be a sordid fall.

Best case scenario? He has no judgement at all.

Great. Just great…

When one thinks about unifying the nation

It might not be obvious, but our fixation

With all manner of firearms and their kit

Is pulling us together like a family tight-knit!

But like any family gathered together,

The shots will fly and strain their tether…

How’d ya sleep, Linds?

So the vote was taken just last night

The outcome inevitable despite a fight.

The Republicans did as they should do

They had just enough time and chutzpa too.

But it is amazing that politicians behave

With word of honor in a deep grave.

A little impulse control…?

Sure, he without sin may cast the first stone,

But isn’t this something to be done alone…?!

There you are working in the middle of the day

With a video feed to make sure you stay!

What triggered deep in that odd male mind

To put him in such an embarrassing bind?!

One Year Ago Today

Sure, he’s sleepy and creepy and can’t complete

A sentence or thought or often even a Tweet…

But, he sure did have a sense for the dangers

Facing our nation that could be game changers.

If this is his plan for what leadership should be

It offers some hope for what America could be.

Once upon a time, not so long ago,

Making plans had a different kind of flow.

Before cell phones and texting filled the air

We’d set a time and a place and just meet there.

But then covid also started spreading fast,

And now planning ahead is a thing of the past.

Bruised (credibility)

It really takes a special kind of gall

To stand up in public view and drawl

That there’s simply nothing wrong at all

When it’s just so easy to make the call –

It looks like it was a bowling ball –

But he’s just fine and standing tall.

Another drop in the ocean

How come you see this and just read on

Like so much of the news that we feed on?

Another account of preposterous behavior

From another deluded, self-proclaimed savior

Of some America that these guys hold great

But which looks to me like a backward state.
