Like all things it depends on perspective

And this House vote is certainly reflective

Of the polarity we know we have today

And the feeling that things just aren’t ok.

For half the country it’s a great treat…

The other half thinks it’s a trick they will beat.

Certainly it’s a complicated situation

But I think this move will help the nation.

Lying politicians are on both sides of the aisle

And social media platforms allow them to dial

Up their ability to leave facts all wrecked.

At least this keeps that partially checked.

So you come to America as a kid

Put on a uniform (while others hid)

Fight for America with total passion

Are wounded in combat in brutal fashion

But continue to serve and do what’s right

Only so talking heads can say you bite.

These days it comes as no surprise

To learn that humans have their eyes

On eating loads of foraged nuts.

Of course they’re good, but what’s

So apparent, even if you’re lazy,

Is how many people are acting crazy.

When you wanna load your rightwing gun

Ammunition like this will get it done.

Students at Harvard, a college with prestige

Have lost their minds to a leftwing siege.

Banning speakers on campus was not enough…

Let’s stop the paper from printing stuff!

There are few who walk the planet
With the grace and moral granite
Of the man I’ve come to know as The Osc!
A saint of ’em all – church, synagogue and mosque.
And on this day that marks his birth
I’m so very grateful he’s on the Earth.

It certainly comes as no surprise

That Donnie upended what meets the eyes.

By now we can see his strategy at work –

Tell ‘em what they want, and hide the smirk.

It’s not even clever or classic old school…

He simply plays everyone for being a fool.

I’ve long thought of dogs as superior creatures.

Total faith and loyalty – without being preachers.

Now they and their kind are lending some paws

To help us humans overcome our flaws.

Who else could unify our polarized politicians,

And win unanimous support with no conditions?

If you say it’s not a “quid pro quo”

At the very least it means you know

That quid pro quo’s are not allowed!

No matter how much you incite the crowd

You can’t kill a person in the street

Then say it’s not murder in a tweet.

Given the vast expanse of the universe,

And how little we know, to make it worse,

It strikes me as odd that people would balk

At the mere possibility there’s more than just talk

To the idea that stars govern something essential.

What’s to lose in exploring that potential?
