It’s been seven years now, to the day

That I first posted these rhymes as a way

To bring some light into the dark routine

Of the news cycle and its anger machine.

I’ve loved every moment and every post.

Though for sure some have sucked, I think that most

Captured the thought which I want to get through –

Life is complex and what you think is true

Maybe just maybe has another side…

So if you can set your aperture wide

To see all types of people, framed with grace,

Well, then the world will be a better place.

For now I’m pausing these rhymes I hold dear.

Though the work will continue, don’t you fear!

I’m shooting a film that’s never been done…

It’s all in rhyme and it’s gonna be fun!

But it will require my full attention

So the daily rhyme is in suspension.

The movie is titled Before Daylight

And takes our mission to a new height.

As we go our own ways until next time

Keep using the mystical power of rhyme!

Nothing is as strong as love for a child

And little can make that love feel defiled

More than losing a child to war.

Yet sometimes misfortune comes to your door

And you’ve got no choice but to make a stand…

Solving real problems can no longer wait.

Trans issues and wokeness? Really who cares.

In today’s current state of affairs

It’s middle class benefits we must cut…

But that requires a really strong gut.

There are those folks who can just do it all

In any game you just give them the ball.

Of course even those players have a skill

That tops all others, they go for the kill.

Now among his powers Trump has claimed grass…

To join an ego as fragile as glass.

Windmills have spun for centuries now

And while it’s true that they’re no cash cow

They’re still an important source of clean power

So why would you end them at this late hour?

Well Orsted is Danish so perhaps this will spark

The sale of Greenland by Denmark…?

TikTok is dangerous or so we’ve been told

But can still be used for something as old

As swaying opinion and the action

Of that highly vulnerable faction

Of young men who kind of lose their mind

When they see photos of the female kind…

More re-shaping of conservative thought

From Trump and his team who now have bought

A ten percent stake in a failing biz

Which begs the question what “conservative” is…

I do think it’s better than handing out grants

But not when it’s done by the seat of your pants.

We’ve come a long way in evolution!

We’re at the point we need a solution

For getting all aggro while on a plane…

Yes, it seems we’ve become a bit insane.

But these helpful hints may prevent a scare

When you’re six miles up in the air.

New York can be wild in many ways

And there aren’t that many things that can faze

Those who live there and make it their home

Even when they learn coyotes roam

In Central Park, right up in their face!

Meh, it’s New York, just give them some space…

All people are allowed their own belief

Whether you’re a foot-soldier or the chief.

But that doesn’t mean what you think is right…
