A day that’s always close to my heart.

We now reverse course and have more light

On a solar path both predictable and bright.

That at least it’s the shortest day of the year…

Six decades in Congress before he was done.

When Donnie was impeached what did he yell?

The Dingells’ name is funny and he may be in hell.

And so the day arrives at last

For the third time in all the past.

But the gravity of the situation

Appears to be lost on the nation.

His true crime and unpatriotic flaw?

Getting so many to mock the rule of law.

In response to Fox giving Comey some air

Donnie went mental, which is not very rare.

Of course he has a different take on the news,

And it’s not so much about reporting the views

Of the people who make world events happen

But rather to give him a big round of clappin’!

Some agree with Donnie, Greta should “chill”

She comes out swinging, and goes for the kill.

But what we see here is why she’s a star –

The adults of the world are just so bizarre.

Damn the torpedoes! And all common sense…

Special interests will thrive, at nature’s expense.

The Carnegie Hero Fund is quite unique

And finds everyday people at their peak.

You can’t be a soldier or rescue professional

(Not to dismiss such work that’s exceptional)

But you must save lives while risking your own

In a selfless act that is good to the bone.

It’s an Army Base town in a tough location,

But can it serve as a model for the nation?

It seems what makes the town really work

Is that people are unwilling to be a jerk.

They’re not linked by social media’s tether

They know each other and live together.

So Greta was named Person of the Year

And with that honor has instilled fear

In a dude at the White House who tweeted

That it didn’t mean he had been defeated!

But yes it caused him anger and ache…

Since his TIME cover was only a fake.

At one time it was a miracle material

And the town that made it was ethereal.

But that changed quickly once we knew

That breathing asbestos will also kill you.

So now the town wants to change its name…

I’d imagine Trump Heights feels the same.
