Draft Dodging

The Commander in Chief had a sore heel

And gave some doctor a very good deal

To keep him out of the military draft –

Which most would agree is pure graft.

Without mandatory conscription for all

Declaring war is a moral squall.

Glass half full…

Yup, it can cause some problems for sure.

Drinking at its worst can be the lure

For people to do things remarkably dumb

And make their brains go utterly numb.

But before we say it’s fully depraved,

How many lives has alcohol saved…?

Another Brexit!

And another classic story of young love…

Bright eyed and hopeful they give a shove

To the baggage that comes with their roots

In a family that specializes in public disputes.

But perhaps they’ll realize one fateful day

Winning a Different War

Impeachment and missiles, what a mess…

So how about news to lower the stress?

Looks like some progress has been made

But dynasties usually are a bad story.

To the God of All, the Savior Divine.

But even then you must have the desire

To say “I’m sorry” without being a liar.

Insecurity

TR is a legend and my favorite of men,

And did what was right again and again.

He said walk lightly but with a big stick

Pretty much the opposite of being a

Brash and loud tool making demands…

The behavior of a guy with small hands.

There goes the neighborhood

When you first hear it you think it’s a prank

A journalist spinning the metaphor crank.

Wily predators in search of weak prey

Swarm Donnie’s golf course, every day!

But no, in fact, these coyotes are real…

And they seem to get the Art of the Deal.
