Leaders will say “We can’t believe it!”

But then will be happy simply to leave it.

Giving soda to the communist bloc

And looking solid as a rock.

Now thanks to tariffs and threats to allies

American products have met their demise.

It’s not unexpected, it’s the result

Of Trump’s economic voodoo cult.

He’ll tell Walmart not to raise prices

But he’s gonna need other devices

To help us all find a way to get through.

He wants to have his cake and eat it too.

So this candidate is a bit woo woo

But there’s certainly worse that we could do.

I actually agree with the things she says

The unfortunate thing is that the Prez

Has only tapped her to cause disruption

A new diversion to hide corruption.

Both parties have blood on their hands for this

After decades of living in debt-fueled bliss

No one is willing to be the one

To tell us the fix will be no fun.

But fix it we must, this can’t continue

Lifting these sanctions is such a good call.

Syria’s back has been against the wall.

And it did the right thing overthrowing

A tyrant who had the country going

All to Hell and now it needs a hand…

A chance at greatness… it’s a good command.

So long as it’s gifted to the US

And not to Trump which would be a big mess

I agree it sort of makes sense to take.

But a real problem I think it would make

Is that there would be huge safety concerns…

Though it seems to be an issue Trump spurns.

Leonard Cohen was a great musician

And he had a rather bad suspicion

That when America finally falls

What will take its place in the power halls

Is going to be something really bad…
