Why

If you don’t bother to take the time,
To express your thoughts in rhyme,
The chances are awfully good,
You’ve not thought as much as you should.
Rhymes are fun and set the stage right,
Like lovers undressing before a fight…

It’s working!

The system is working as it should.

Trump was thrown out because he’s no good.

The Dems then strayed too far to the left

And were spanked at the polls, now bereft.

It’s working the way it was meant to be

In a functioning democracy.

“Enough Idiocy”

Perhaps down the road we’ll look super bad
Cuz it might cause problems we hadn’t had.
But for now the vax is our best way out
Yet still people complain, they scream and shout.
They take shots for everything, like the flu
Then insist that this one is bad for you.

And strengthen democracy

By most accounts it was a shellacking.

What we did not see was folks attacking

The integrity of the elections

Or the character of our selections.

The people voted and made their choices.

Results were accepted with adult voices.

Force of nature

It can hardly come as a big surprise

That humans yearn to see the skies

And would prefer to spend most of their days

In a natural place with the sun’s golden rays.

Businesses are now adopting the trend

Just to retain their talent, in the end.

Seymour… not

However appealing the rule may have been

It’s truly atrocious and likely a sin

That the governing body of a sports league

Mandated such rules with no hint of fatigue.

Finally they realize, after a law suit

Mandating bikinis,  it’s not so cute.

Basic Instinct

Access to water is quickly decreasing

But demand for it is simply unceasing.

Economic development and climate change

Are making the situation strange.

As population booms and need expands

Wars will be fought for all the wetlands.

Trick, I guess…

Oh how cruel the weary world can be

When even a little ghost can see

The Grinch of Halloween rearing its head

And spreading its special form of dread.

“No costumes for you!” it yelled with great pride,

And then we watched as the Supply Chain died.

Unintended Consequences

You have to admit it’s an interesting stat…

And yes there are holes right off the bat.

But even controlling for self-selection

This data provides quite the complexion.

Perhaps some good can emerge from it all

If the vax also helps health overall.

Vague is good

I don’t know why we’d take this position

Since it seems contrary to the mission.

The threat of attack is a deterrent

And the threats against us are recurrent.

Why limit the options on the table

When so much of the world is so unstable?

Actually, a mess…

Where is the leadership that was promised

From the candidate who was the calmest?

Joe’s years in the Senate and as VP

Were meant to offset his rep as “sleepy…”

But damn this boat is without a rudder!

And it makes this centrist poet shudder.
