They used to be held once every four years

And had the attention of all eyes and ears.

Then they decided to split them in two,

Probably to see if their ratings grew.

Every two years, they were on all the time…

The magic wore off, a bit of a crime.

Being consistent is a worthy trait
And good folks always want to play it straight.
So if you’re inclined to “ethically sourced”
Then why shouldn’t that also be enforced
To all things you take wherever you go
Even when it comes time to do blow?!

At the core of the strength of our nation

Is our bold history of immigration.

Even Native Americans came one day

Across some isthmus that gave them a way.

But it’s not sustainable anymore

To maintain a toll free open door.

Say what you will about Europeans

On climate issues they’re not plebeians.

Their leadership here is quite amazing

With bold new plans that are all trail blazing.

No kicking the can further down the road

They’re notching it up into Ludicrous Mode.

It’s an achievement that’s hard to believe

Human ingenuity, pulled from the sleeve.

What an awesome gift to be able to give

Expression of thought, much more life to live.

These fine doctors have changed the game

The future for humans is not the same.

It’s true that rules are made for a reason

And procedure is one of the keys in

Making new laws and governing the land

But fleeing the state is a silly stand…

All of the issues should be debated

Instead the State House has been vacated.

While pools have created a different deal

It’s still a story with dramatic appeal…

One of two nations “double landlocked”

All of its neighbors are also blocked

From having access to any sea coast

But it’s got some swimmers, at least almost…

Let’s say for a moment that this is true
And it changed relationships that were blue
And they blossomed into heavenly bliss
With love and attention sealed by a kiss.
Well then perhaps we’d be able to think
At least something from covid didn’t stink.

It couldn’t come a moment too soon

Because we’re headed to culture’s high noon.

The political center has all but collapsed

And it must be fixed before more time has elapsed.

All the emphasis on everything woke

Will make Democrats’ edge go up in smoke.

Kudos and congrats to this fine kid,

Who won her spelling bee championship bid!

And on top of that, we should all take note,

There is the chance, and it’s not remote,

That it won’t even be her biggest feat…

She holds three records as an athlete!
