Why

If you don’t bother to take the time,
To express your thoughts in rhyme,
The chances are awfully good,
You’ve not thought as much as you should.
Rhymes are fun and set the stage right,
Like lovers undressing before a fight…

Uncalculated Risk

A fascinating force we need to know

Is how we perceive new risk and its woe.

New risks seem scary, old ones not so much,

Even if greater and in closer touch.

Some with vaccines are still staying afar,

But their risk is less than driving a car.

You go, 43!

For those who lean over to the left side

W was not a great source of pride.

But since he has left his government work

He’s really become far less of a jerk.

A pretty good painter, late in season,

And a sage old voice of thoughtful reason.

Unintended Consequences

Getting vaccines is a very good thing,

And is paving the way for a great spring.

But one change I now note that’s not so good

Is people ditching the protective hood

And not wearing a mask in any place…

Plus now we must see Ted’s petulant face.

Cap and Trade

So far I believe that President Joe

Has been putting on a pretty good show.

But this immigration move is a mess

As it has been reported by the press.

What did he think would be people’s response –

Shrug it off with casual nonchalance?

Oh, I don’t know…

What could go wrong with a great plan like this?!

As if anything possibly could go amiss…

Mixing monkeys and men, a chimera!

Launching us into a brand new era.

Though perhaps along evolution’s road

We’ve already used this genetic code.

Unless, of course…

Mitch McConnell and Donnie Boy both say

Business should avoid the political fray.

“Industry must not weigh in on these matters!

At least not those that could leave us in tatters….”

But they never seemed too opposed, you know,

When the big companies gave them all some dough.

Too much of a good thing

How the world can change so much in a year!

Remember back then our biggest bad fear?

What if – Dear God! – we run out of paper

To wipe our butts and we have to taper

Our use of it to only squares a day?!

Well we dodged a bullet, wouldn’t ya say?

Biblical proportion

It’s heartening to see tech taking the lead

On solving these problems that really need

Creativity, resolve and much more

Of the skills that engineers keep in store.

It comes too late to help the Egyptians

But handy if God writes more plague prescriptions.

Naked Ambition

Entitled and arrogant to the max

Appealing for donations to his PACs

He thinks he can do whatever he wants

Including, it seems, all things with his shvantz.

Now he’s got help from and wants to be seen

With Trump, Jim Jordan and Marjorie Greene.

Let’s do shots!

Because nothing says “Yay! It’s finally done!”

When pandemics end and we see the sun,

Like seeing the doc for that awesome shot

Which will give you some comfort as you plot

A return to living, freed from the box…

The vaccine?! Ha ha! No not that… Botox!
