Imagine if this great power was yours

To what extent would it provide us cures?

Or would it instead be a weak escape…

Don’t like yourself? Well just get a new shape!

What magic it would have to give us light

But beware its dark side’s potential bite.

You can pick your friends and can pick your nose,

But relatives? No, that’s not how it goes.

Cruel rellies are indeed a part of life

Fanning the hot flames of family strife.

Perhaps it is harder as a royal…

Or something else to which they are loyal?

Granted I don’t yet know how fun and wild

It might be to visit with your grandchild

I do suspect that once I get my jab

I will want to make plans a bit more fab…

Perhaps to increase the rate of vaccines

We could entice with better post-shot scenes?

It feels like we’ve all been given back time…
The constant squawking about left wing crime
And incessant complaints over Fake News
And anyone who dares to have opposing views,
It’s gone mostly quiet, what a relief!
But too good to be true, that’s my belief…

It truly is just terribly unfair

That this fine man in Nancy’s chair

Is being held to account for his role

As one of the many people who stole

America’s dignity in that breach…

When his leader sits free in Palm Beach.

It’s subtle still but I feel something strange –

Are political winds starting to change?

When was the last time a GOP gov

Could use common sense and not get a shove

Back to the corner of partisan trash

Where the point seems to be only to clash?

There is no doubt that self-knowledge is hard

And our own spin can create a canard.

But turns out sometimes a little self-lie

Can be more helpful than meets the eye.

Just think how tedious our lives would be

With honest answers to every query…

Perhaps it’s now time to channel the Grinch

Since hearing this news really made me flinch.

Well, fine, cancel those titles, it’s okay –

Maybe my heart will grow ten sizes today.

But there is a question this issue begs…

Are people not worried about green eggs?!

Perhaps I’m naive but this is no joke.

These oil guys are serious folk.

A meaningful sign that they are for real

Could deliver the world a better deal.

The fact they are at the table at all

Comes straight outta the election last fall.

Well this news is upbeat that’s for certain
Describing all the ways that the curtain
Could fall on our world as it all goes dark
Making covid seem a walk in the park.
Preparedness for this future is key.
Will we learn from the past? I guess we’ll see!
