Why

If you don’t bother to take the time,
To express your thoughts in rhyme,
The chances are awfully good,
You’ve not thought as much as you should.
Rhymes are fun and set the stage right,
Like lovers undressing before a fight…

3D Generation

Kids sometimes get a kind of bum rap

For being tied up within a self-centered trap.

Enter “The Makers” from down in DC

With their network of printers, in 3D!

They produced a new protective shield

And delivered thousands to doctors in the field.

Love in the time of corona

He is a German and she is a Dane,

Octogenarian lovers staying sane,

By happily following all of the rules –

No need to board a ship of fools –

And finding a way to make love endure

With border picnics, and wine for sure.

From bats, to mice

If corona virus has made you feel trapped

And all of your patience has been tapped,

A new park design can now save the day

Giving you access to nature in a safe way.

You’ll have enough space to freely sneeze

And at the end, oh my, amazing cheese!

No longer a Rube?

Marco Rubio is a Republican fixture

And often has an interesting mixture

Of new ideas with which he means well

But rarely do many think they are swell.

Will be interesting to see his party’s reaction,

And if this noble suggestion gets any traction.

Essentially random

It is indeed an interesting question,

And people seem open to suggestion.

What, exactly, makes a business essential?

Who decides on that important credential?

Surfing to some, and barbers to others

It really depends on your personal druthers.

Remote indeed

It didn’t take long for new normal to set

With the strange new habits it did beget.

Zoom used to be a kids’ television show

Now it’s the means by which we know

The real color of our colleagues’ hair

And how they dress when they just don’t care.

Really?

This really needs to be broken down…

For starters I’d say it’s the act of a clown.

At worst he reminds us how bad things are

And perhaps he’s mismanaged things so far.

At best for him he gets his base all excited

Using tax payer dollars! Who should be indicted?

Innovation never dies

Yes we’re dealing with a global pandemic

And solutions to stress must be systemic.

Everyone needs their tonics and balms,

Like chicken soup served by caring moms.

These cures must be ready at any hour

And even of course while taking a shower.

Here’s another idea

In full disclosure I suck at these tests

And think of them all as useless pests.

So perhaps now we can make things right.

Instead of pretending that they shine light

On assessing a person’s potential to soar

Let’s just end these relics of social war.

This too can change

So many things at this moment in time

Are so uncertain and change on a dime.

But taxes and death, it was always said

Are the unchanging constants that we dread.

So it is quite a thing that we see here…

Pushing back taxes, but not the other I fear.
