It’s a classic shakedown done by the book

The starter crime for many a crook.

Swipe something of value and hold it tight

Then demand payment to make it right.

Catch victims off-guard, when least expected

Like at a temple when spiritually connected…

If you have no conviction for right and wrong

But just simply believe that you belong

At the table where history is made

And you really don’t care who you betrayed

Because all you think about is yourself

Then this was a victory for the orange elf.

At this point in public no progress was made

But maybe in private some minds have been swayed.

Too early to tell, it would seem to me

So let’s hold our breath and just wait and see.

Perhaps there’s a breakthrough to be announced…

Though it could be that this effort was trounced.

Let’s hope Trump is right about his deal vibe

And that he’s not playing to his own tribe.

Peace can be messy but war is horrific

So ending this one would be terrific.

Some concessions will have to be made…

It’s yet to be seen if Trump’s being played.

If anything’s certain we know it’s this

Whatever Trump says, even when it’s a diss,

Could quickly change at the blink of an eye.

About changing his mind he is not shy.

So let’s not read into this too much

But a unified plan is pretty clutch.

The trends are simply unmistakable

Children today highly breakable.

Tech has eroded their self-esteem

They’re more neurotic, to the extreme.

Tech is amazing for all that it’s done

But its tragic dark side is just no fun.

It’s no surprise that civil order changed

Since Trump believes the old order’s deranged.

But when it comes to blatant self-enrichment

He has cast a spell of utter bewitchment.

It’s insane to see the GOP’s stand

As Trump lines his pocket with his little hand.

The premise here is that with spam blockers

Good things may come, but also bad shockers.

If Apple improves its privacy setting

Political polls may need some vetting.

I can’t help but think that that’s a good deal…

So this seems a bit like some breathless spiel.

Influencer as profession… it’s odd.

But if you’re perky and have a great bod

Then a whole new world is opened for you

As tech lets that whole world adore you.

I get that it rubs the establishment wrong

But it should figure out how to get along.

Much to our dismay, the options are few,

And though they exist they’re not likely to

Be embraced by our political class

Since all of them are a pain in the ass.

But without action the future is dark…
