What a strange place we’re in now

Watching the force of politics and how

The Attorney General was either lazy,

On the take, or perhaps just crazy.

His public comments freed Trump of his deeds.

The real problem, of course, is that no one reads.

Bless these Scandinavian silent types

Who eschew the small talk and little gripes

That often pepper such conversation,

Stretching the boundaries of imagination.

Too bad they feel the need to change!

Pointless chatter is what’s really strange.

Sometimes it feels like the well is dry,

And it can make an artist want to cry,

Or else to lean on drugs or the bottle

To help us push the creative throttle.

Nothing wrong with help from those cues!

But I’d sure like to believe in Maya’s views…

It’s the unofficial start of summer,

But listen for the lonely drummer

Who keeps track of what freedom costs

Honoring all of the lives that have been lost.

And a special tribute to the Gold Stars

For a sacrifice surpassing all of ours.

I can’t believe the country is still here

With POTUS locked in middle school gear

Tweeting nonsense and offensive bile

About politicians on the other side of the aisle.

And Speaker Pelosi doing little more

To mop the quality of discourse off the floor.

Brexit has claimed its latest victim.

David Cameron? Yes it licked him.

And now we lose Theresa May.

Though maybe better she doesn’t stay.

But look who’s likely the next Prime Minister?

Oh yes, this Brexit thing sure is sinister…

He’s one of China’s Most Wanted men

Which really means an awful lot when

There are 1.4 billion people in the land

So “Most Wanted” status is pretty grand!

And in LA people want to be awed…

But back at home he’s wanted for fraud.

Long Island is home to many types.

Each one very willing to air all gripes.

The tough guys always are at the ready

With jacked arms holding onto their steady,

Don’t cross them, or they’ll get to fightin’!

Yeah, great white sharks should fit right in…

Another new milestone in my life,

As I praise Fox News, despite its strife!

They are doing right with young Mayor Pete

And by inviting ALL dems to come and meet.

How else can we begin to break down the wall

That separates us politically, one and all?
