Democracy’s hard when it yields results

That aren’t what you want and sort of insults

Your sense of justice about what is right

But that’s our system! Don’t put up a fight

Against the structure that’s flawed but still works…

Whining about it is only for jerks.

As the rest of the world kind of goes mad

This elephant in Berlin feels kinda glad.

All she needs is a hose with some pressure

To give her spirits a good refresher.

Emerson preached it as well for us all..

Life is best lived when you keep pleasures small.

So you’re in Carolina and you see

A bizarre little guy, it’s a monkey!

I wonder what your reaction would be

But what you would not do, it seems to me

Is decide to give it a big bear hug…

The New Yorker in me would see it and shrug.

Now that it’s over and people take stock

And half of the country deals with its shock

There is one thing that brings us together

And can strengthen that slim little tether

That keeps us from going off of the rails…

Finally an end to those texts and emails!

I see it sometimes in how people move

Projecting confidence, deep in their groove.

It makes me wonder if it’s for real

The way that they so easily deal.

So do people like that really exist?

Why yes, that would be a narcissist!

Results are in and the gloating begins

Which both parties do no matter who wins…

To me we had candidates, both with flaws

And the one with more of them has in his jaws

A decisive victory, the people have spoken.

But that’s America, the system’s not broken.

It’s finally arrived! Like Christmas day!

With the whole country wide-eyed and gay!

Everyone wishing each other the best!

Happy to be in a country so blessed!

No matter the outcome life here is a gift!

Congratulations to every athlete

Who chose to tackle this very hard feat.

Not all were able to cross the line

But all had a big heart and a steel spine.

I’m so proud of two who went all the way…

My very own children! Hell YEAH!! Hooray!!!

To say this is tedious sells it short
Since the Proud Boys are of a different sort.
Proud of what would be one question I pose

Since these are the guys who everyone knows

Were tried for sedition, now behind bars.

Yet they’re “regrouping,” more criminal czars.

If we only hear the news that we want

Then some algorithm is nonchalant

In tracking the feeds that are sent to me

‘Cuz this little piece I just shouldn’t see…
