Nelson DeMille was a renaissance man
A soldier and writer he did more than most can.
I had the pleasure of meeting him once
And he surely struck me as no one’s dunce.
Thoughtful and modest with humor that’s wry
I’d love to be like him, or at least try.

Even the Right seems to think that it’s true:

Those are good reasons for him to step down,

They just fear this swing state will now vote blue.

So two young kids with a lemonade stand

Funny there’s been no vitriolic speech

About this massive and YUGE patriotic breach…

Of course he needs to appeal to his base

But that doesn’t really help solve the case.

He wants to get people all mad as hell

Since he’s learned that that kind of does him well.

Yeah, honing in on this crazy ordeal

Is about as thoughtful as Stop the Steal.

Among the most concerning things I’ve read

Is this priceless gem that’s now in my head.

It’s not just a few, but quite a big crew

Whose views could really be only askew

Since their basic source for important news

Is Tik Tok! With its very thoughtful views…

“No, you cannot have that soft warm cookie…”

Not even a political rookie

Would let words like those ever be said!

Since it would render their campaign dead.

Instead they all feed us sugary hope,

A dangerous and deadly fiscal dope.

If you think about this without the noise

There is little question that what destroys

The quality of an education

And fosters intellectual stagnation

Is when any idea is excluded…

The lack of conservatives is deluded.

It’s not as crazy as I would have thought

Since I imagined that I’d be distraught

By the desires of any one soul

Who believed that s/he had total control.

Most people’s concerns seemed pretty legit…

And then there’s the guy who just said, “I’d quit.”

It does seem bizarre that Trump hangs around

With a young woman who seems to have found

A skill stirring up anti-Indian strife –

Especially given JD’s own wife –

And believes 9/11 was a sham

Yet joined The Memorial… what a scam.

The memes went wild after the debate!

And the ones with some truth were pretty great.

I find it hard to believe Trump can run –

Seems more likely he’d turn and use a gun –

But the rest of the image kind of lands,

Since for sure he’d grab pussies in both hands…
