Among the few things you’d think we could do

To bring some unity into our view

Honoring service is a no brainer

Yet it too falls prey to a campaigner.

No one should disparage or try to barnstorm

Any person who wore the uniform.

The world has changed over all the eons

For both ruling classes and the peons.

Great things have happened, and awful ones too

But through all the years one thing remains true…

No matter in times of good or bad luck

People always think that our morals suck.

Our world is obsessed with measuring stuff.

We have to be sure that we get enough!

From the steps we take to calories burned

There’s plenty out there to make us concerned.

But I think it has the reverse effect

If happiness is what we expect.

Apologists for Russia might want to know

How awesome it is when you get to go

To prison for years because of the crime

Of donating money just one time

To a nonprofit that helps out Ukraine.

She gave fifty dollars… sure Russia’s humane.

Quite the setback for a promising firm,

It’s painful to watch the company squirm.

But they really need to get out in front

And take a position that’s pretty blunt:

Debris on the beach is not a good look,

But it’s better than oil in anyone’s book.

Can you imagine all the confusion?

These kids have lived a life of delusion.

They only found out while on the plane

That actually they’re Russian… that’s just insane.

Could the same thing happen to any of us?

I strongly believe it’s one solution

Among many needed to fight the pollution

In politics and leadership today

To help us change course to a better way.

Both sides should reveal their entire squad

And let voters give the whole team their nod.
