Why

If you don’t bother to take the time,
To express your thoughts in rhyme,
The chances are awfully good,
You’ve not thought as much as you should.
Rhymes are fun and set the stage right,
Like lovers undressing before a fight…

Bull Fit

So this woman decides to feed a bull

That’s loose on the beach, so quite a handful.

Then of course the bull does what bulls do

And basically becomes a wrecking crew.

It’s hard to know what goes through someone’s brain

To make them believe that isn’t insane.

Secretary of Beat

Remember when Clinton rocked out on the sax

With his Blues Brothers shades and sexy tracks?

Like him or not it was just kind of fun

And may be among the reasons he won.

Biden could use a bit of cool these days…

Funk jamming Blinken could be one of the ways.

It Seems Less Crazy

Everyone has a soundtrack in their brain

For some it sounds like a rumbling freight train

For others it’s peaceful and nicely quiet

Still others will hear an internal riot.

But when it spills out and you hear your own voice?

Then getting a dog might be a good choice.

Everything Is Normal

Objectively viewing a headline like this

I feel like we’ve fallen into the abyss.

Could there be a more nutty situation

Than this group having a Hamas fixation

And pushing it on all the Mouseketeers

Leaving Disney World awash in their jeers?

Love is Exploration

How’dya make the exceptional endure

Or regenerate that sense of allure

When you’ve been together for oh-so-long

And you want to keep the relationship strong?

Well, put yourself out there and try new stuff!

(And it never hurts to be in the buff…)

Don’t Hold Your Breath

However much it would be fun to think

That this action signals we’re on the brink

Of having more adults in the room

Who are intent on being able to groom

A sense of duty to work together

That will change as fast as the weather.

Abbie Normal

We of course can debate what normal means

And argue thoughtfully about vaccines

But that’s not what is happening today

Instead it seems that it’s become okay

To say and do the most horrible things

People think it’s fine, and that is what stings.

What’s On Your Mind?

Somehow it comes as no big surprise
That once you are able to analyze
The inner layout of RFK’s head
What you will find is a worm that is dead.
And there may be other dead things up there…
But at least it’s more than angry hot air.

Cracker Whack

Caramel covered popcorn, what a treat!

So if it’s something that you like to eat

But feel too guilty because of its name

(Problematic at best in today’s game)

Then this is the alternative for you…

More sensitive labels to the rescue!

Hopeful

I’m always a sucker for this type of thing

Celebrating poetry makes my heart sing.

I love the idea that it can give hope

And perhaps show a way to help us all cope.

Writing rhymes creates a type of contract

And gives comfort in its implicit pact.
