Rick Perry is famous for many things

Most of them bad, and one really stings.

A lapse of memory in a debate

Pretty much sealed for him his losing fate.

But props to him now for announcing this vow…

This could have saved him then, and others now.

When the fight is all about survival

It can awaken quite the revival.

Ukraine’s old men are out fighting this war

Since if it is won they’re going to need more

Young men and women to rebuild their land.

It’s a forward-thinking and courageous stand.

An interesting question to contemplate

And what it means for our collective fate.

I think much the same could be said of Trump

Who’s conservative views are a mere stump.

People voted for both in frustration

With the out of touch leaders of our nation.

Now things are getting a little crazy

Hopefully I’m not just getting lazy…

But once again I’m aligned with Trump

All these nations are increasing the lump

Of cash they’re paying and actually owe

For enjoying the protection of NATO.

So Zohran has won the primary vote

And while that gives him good cause to gloat

It does not mean he’ll be the next mayor

Since now there’ll be a crazy new layer.

We’ll see independents come flood the field

And for the first time they’ll have power to wield.

Maybe it’s true and maybe it’s not

But the fact remains that we took a shot.

Trump couldn’t know if it worked right away

But he’ll always claim Total Victory today.

So we shouldn’t’ believe the claims he made

Nor these we’re now hearing, they’re all mislaid.

The outcome of this is yet to be known

Possibly brilliant, or a bad milestone.

Seems the planning and execution were great.

But informing Congress was a tad late.

Yet I applaud Trump’s moves getting it done,

Throwing everyone off before firing the gun.

When your leaders barrage you with tall tales

About how the country is off its rails

And headed to Hell in a hand-basket

With everything good dead in a casket,

Then it’s pretty easy to understand

Why we feel like we’re in Afghanistan.

If everyone acted like a good boy scout

There’d be nothing for us to worry about.

Laws would be silly, unnecessary

All the fine people would do nothing scary.

But since instead we live on planet Earth

Corporate governance still has its worth.

Some of the platform appears to make sense!

Like cutting out things that make you tense.

“Less Prozac more protein” is one of the lines

And frankly I think it kind of shines.

“Less burnout more babies” is another…
