Why

If you don’t bother to take the time,
To express your thoughts in rhyme,
The chances are awfully good,
You’ve not thought as much as you should.
Rhymes are fun and set the stage right,
Like lovers undressing before a fight…

Uncertainty is a Thing

So much is unknown, that will always remain.
For those with OCD, that is a pain.
But trying to prove things beyond a doubt
Is just hard to do, so what it’s about
Is accepting we’re still learning a lot
And conclusions may change, or they may not.

Not Intuitive

The thinking goes a little bit like this…

The world’s heating up, a fact we can’t miss,

Which makes polar ice caps just disappear

And has a consequence a little queer.

They no longer reflect the sun’s hot rays

So the world may get colder in future days!

And Mexico Is Going to…

So… where are the calls that we’re the Stasi?

Thoughtless and cruel, kind of fascist quasi…

The same policies used by the other side

Are now ok, because they’re better applied?

What would make this perfect, totally fab

Is if Mexico did pick up the tab!

Okay, so…?

And this comes after August and July

When we also set a record heat high.

To many the question remains “So what?”

They think a scientist is just a wing nut…

So how do we translate jargon and alarm

To help people realize the potential harm?

The Politics of Self

Sure, there’s plenty of blame to go around

But at its core we’ve lost all moral ground.

Do you truly believe this gang of eight

Is so deeply concerned about our fate…

About national interests and global needs?

Or is it more about their Twitter feeds?

Missed Opportunity

For a moment it seemed all could be good

And the impact of all the crazies would

Allow the centrists on both sides of the aisle

To strike a deal with bipartisan style.

Some concessions to Dems for a few votes

Could have been the best of the antidotes.

Don’t the French Do This Now?

Looks like I was born a few years too soon

‘Cuz I sure would have loved this workplace boon!

Finally a role for AI that I love

I’d slip into that like a hand in a glove.

But there must be a catch, how could it be?

Is it just artificial reality?

Everything’s Dangerous

The craziest things begin to happen

Like you’re at a concert and you’re clappin’

Next thing you know something’s tweaked in your neck

And it feels like you’ve been in a bad wreck.

Or you turn to the side and pick up your pack

Then Mother of God, there goes your back…!

Clash of the Titans

One team is drunk and the other is high

Seems like they’re giving it the high school try!

Of course they’re artists so they get a pass

And it’s not like they’re shooting a Master Class.

Team Drunk got the win, it was 5 to 4…

The Dead cover band distracted Team High more.

Bad News for the Orange Team

I’ve never really liked the Plea Deal vibe

Since it really seems not far from a bribe…

Get a light sentence and sing like a bird

To sell out your partners, give up your word.

But I couldn’t be happier that this guy

Is happy to make Donnie high and dry.
