Zombie research?! Is this for real?

I mean, I do understand its appeal

But does it need study of this kind?

Oh, woops, okay never mind…

Turns out it’s when a paper goes awry

But then references to it just never die.

And sci-fi fans have a lot to cheer!

The DoD says stuff can’t be explained

The potential of aliens ain’t so harebrained.

With the great expanse of all that space

Seems likely there’s life in another place.

Record droughts and heat like Hell

If we don’t do something it won’t end well.

Energy, politics and finance must

Figure out ways to adjust

And be creative with business and tech

Before the climate becomes a train wreck.

What is it that drives some people to this?

Death defying feats high above the abyss.

Are there demons shouting at them to go?

Or do they simply need to put on a show?

Whatever the case this feat is legit!

I’m glad that they pushed it and never quit.

The solstice occurred late on Father’s Day

A lovely gift for all dads going gray.

The first full day of the summer season

Is certainly one that’s awfully pleasin’.

The only sad part, I have to observe

Is now days grow shorter we’re past the curve.

Hard to imagine something more scary

Than freefalling two miles… yeah, that’s hairy.

Down through the sky she plummeted to earth

While branches of trees made a landing berth.

Time to ponder what your life really meant.

New York is back in almost every way

With one key exception, I have to say…

No one is back in the office quite yet!

Sure the bars are full, on that you can bet.

But working, meh, folks are staying at home,

Putting off their return to the Thunder Dome!

Or at least would like the world to perceive,

That covid started in a US lab.

I mean, why not? They’ll give it a stab…

No doubt there’ll be takers of the tall tale

Conspiracy theorists, off the rail.

This seems so cool and that it must be done

Whisking across the Channel, having fun.

Probably great when conditions are calm…

But good luck when hit by a weather bomb!

This scheme will be revised time and again,

Here’s to the best laid plans of mice and men.

It’s amazing to consider what’s going down

And the whole new threat that’s come to town.

No one would have thought a generation ago

That even as nuclear arsenals grow

Worse weapons still lurk in man’s evil mind

Just a matter of time before they’re designed.
