How the world can change so much in a year!

Remember back then our biggest bad fear?

What if – Dear God! – we run out of paper

To wipe our butts and we have to taper

Our use of it to only squares a day?!

Well we dodged a bullet, wouldn’t ya say?

It’s heartening to see tech taking the lead

On solving these problems that really need

Creativity, resolve and much more

Of the skills that engineers keep in store.

It comes too late to help the Egyptians

But handy if God writes more plague prescriptions.

Because nothing says “Yay! It’s finally done!”

When pandemics end and we see the sun,

Like seeing the doc for that awesome shot

Which will give you some comfort as you plot

A return to living, freed from the box…

The vaccine?! Ha ha! No not that… Botox!

There is only one case when sex is “safe”

Because having a kid can be a chafe…

So if already pregnant, take a spin!

What more can happen? Go ahead and sin.

Unless, well, it gets more complicated

And you’re not, in fact, very well-gated…

For a family that gets so high on fame

It’s hard to believe they think it’s a shame

That a pic was posted without consent…

You have to think they probably meant

To cause a stir or shake up some drama

It’s one more scene produced by the mama.

Yes it’s an important question to ask

More important than that? You’ll need a flask.

Stock up on booze and quality ear plugs

And don’t forget recreational drugs.

Add that to the budget, work overtime!

Because having kids is worth every dime.

Oh how glorious those days really were

When the only point in trying to blur

The facts of a story from what was done

Was simply to have a small bit of fun.

Now that light too has been taken from us

By those who want to control and stun us.

Yes, I’m born and bred in New York City

Where we pride ourselves on being gritty.

I wouldn’t be very fast to predict

The post pandemic hell that some depict.

Perhaps it will be an excellent screen!

And am preparing to go many rounds!

It all gets a lot harder as you age

But it sure ain’t easy at any stage.

So what’s this now about a flabby bod?!

Well, what matters is behind the façade.

Maybe it’s more difficult than I think

To simply acknowledge when things just stink.
