Sold! For $69 million…

It is of course a tough age long question

And one that takes some time for digestion…

What determines the value of something?

A priceless masterpiece or a dumb thing?

Beauty’s in the eye of the beholder…

But sixty-nine sticks is tough to shoulder.

What if…

Imagine if this great power was yours

To what extent would it provide us cures?

Or would it instead be a weak escape…

Don’t like yourself? Well just get a new shape!

What magic it would have to give us light

But beware its dark side’s potential bite.

Family is hard

You can pick your friends and can pick your nose,

But relatives? No, that’s not how it goes.

Cruel rellies are indeed a part of life

Fanning the hot flames of family strife.

Perhaps it is harder as a royal…

Whoa Party!

Granted I don’t yet know how fun and wild

It might be to visit with your grandchild

I do suspect that once I get my jab

I will want to make plans a bit more fab…

Perhaps to increase the rate of vaccines

We could entice with better post-shot scenes?

Leadership Matters

It’s subtle still but I feel something strange –

Back to the corner of partisan trash

Where the point seems to be only to clash?

How are you? Great!

There is no doubt that self-knowledge is hard

And our own spin can create a canard.

But turns out sometimes a little self-lie

Can be more helpful than meets the eye.

Just think how tedious our lives would be

With honest answers to every query…

Mais oui!

Perhaps I’m naive but this is no joke.

These oil guys are serious folk.

A meaningful sign that they are for real

Could deliver the world a better deal.

The fact they are at the table at all

Comes straight outta the election last fall.

Good times

Well this news is upbeat that’s for certain
Describing all the ways that the curtain
Could fall on our world as it all goes dark
Making covid seem a walk in the park.
Preparedness for this future is key.
Will we learn from the past? I guess we’ll see!

Minimum Sense

The trouble with trying to seem so fair

And pretending your past helps make you care

Is that facts can be so inconvenient!

Like those which prove you’re not very lenient.

And in the process of making your case,

Actually leave you with a bright red face.

Simply terrible

Codes are distributed to folks in need

But humans just can’t suppress their greed.

So they’re jumping the line ahead of those

Who rightfully need it, everyone knows.

How do these people fall asleep at night

As their moral code withers with blight…?
