Whether or not you think there’s a war

Against Christmas and its days of yore,

And no matter your political views

Or if you believe he is King of the Jews,

At the very least we should all agree

Saying Happy Birthday is pretty easy!

Just goes to show how far we’ve come

In dealing with the beating drum

Of the same same same day in day out

That now the office party is all about

Ugly sweaters and photos of your pet,

Not how inappropriate you can get…

It’s the darkest day of the calendar year

But has some virtues I like to cheer!

It’s the “shortest” day of 2020 –

A year which has given us more than plenty

Of reasons to feel that life’s out of joint.

Yes, this day is a hopeful turning point…

It’s a bit disturbing when someone like Flynn

A former General who’s highly partisan,

And was the National Security Advisor,

Decides that in fact it would be wiser

To suggest the president deploy military force

Than let democracy run its course.

It took him four tries to crack the code

Before this hacker hit the payload!

He’d done it before and was inspired –

Donnie’s old password was “yourefired!”

Not too creative on the president’s part, yet…

Whad’ya do if you don’t have a pet?

Can’t say that Paul has classic hero looks,

But he’s taking a stand against the crooks.

He voted for Trump and is in the GOP

But won’t be a party to its lunacy.

The country will need more people like Paul

If we are to have any chance at all.

Donnie has fought many battles in life

And promised as President to end armed strife.

He was not so successful in that pursuit

But at least one initiative did bear fruit…

With this federal holiday also comes this:

Finally an end to the war on Christmas!

In case you haven’t been paying attention

Now would be a good time to mention

That we’re seriously screwed, as you will see

Because self-serving greed is on a spree.

These “news” networks are quite clearly insane.

They simply peddle lies for financial gain.

Seventy-nine years ago on this day

America was forced to enter the fray

Of the second world war in a generation.

By the end we had earned global veneration.

What would those who ignored their own need

Think of our leaders today, all driven by greed?

If you think about it for just a little while

It would be the perfect addition to his file.

He’s not one to do things like other folks

And thinks everything intellectual is a hoax.

So it’s easy to imagine that this nutty boaster

Would scrap the library for a rollercoaster.
