Galactic Differences

Many moons ago there was a popular book

Which based itself on a gimmicky hook

That women are from Venus and men from Mars

From different planets entirely, yet stuck on ours.

Now satellites monitor both planets for life,

Looks like Martians are closer to getting a wife!

Never Forget

I was living in New York City that day

And saw man’s best and worst on display.

Shark attacks were in the news that morning

But for terrorism there was no warning.

The first plane seemed like just bad luck

When the second plane hit the world went amok.

Self knowledge is difficult

This article has an interesting perspective

Which forced me to be rather reflective

About my thoughts on the political system

And bad politicians, too many to list ‘em.

The headline is big and it doesn’t do all that,

But now I know I’m a libertarian gamma rat!

Okay, but…

Again it’s amazing to look at the news

And see the same topic from different views.

Fox highlights Donnie’s desire to keep calm

While the left considers it a homicidal bomb.

There may have been merit in playing it down

But not to the extent that was done by this clown.

What bias…?

Just have a look at this headline and pic

And it’s pretty clear how one can get sick

Of the open bias that drives all the news

And feeds the extremists with its cues.

This picture is chosen to make Joe look dumb

And the left will tirelessly beat the same drum.

What a Djoke

Something about this guy is annoying

It seems as if he’s always toying

With opponents and refs and you and me

Going through life superciliously.

But it’s crazy how this episode unfolded.

Players doing worse have only been scolded.

Steely Perspective

It takes a lot to stand on one’s own

And see that your opinions have grown

In a direction of which others may not approve

But which is true to your principals and groove.

The first black leader of the GOP

Says Trump must go, it’s plain to see…

Gotcha! Ha ha!

Sooner or later it has to stop
Since political discourse couldn’t drop
Any lower on the scale of inanity
And if it does we’ll all lose our sanity.
Yes, Nancy looks a bit like a dunce
But enough with all the childish stunts.

Antarctica? Why not!

I saw the headline and had to laugh

Could it be that name is not a gaff…?

But then, well then, I researched Ed Sheeran,

Cuz I just didn’t know that he is appearin’

To be the number one artist in music today,

And damn, so good! So whatever, I say!

It’s all a game

It seems that one key to success can be

The ability to create an alternate reality.

That makes this article particularly scary

Since extremists from both poles can be very

Adept at separating people from what’s real

Which could lead us all into a very bad deal.
