Source: These Times Need Rhymes

Second Anniversary

Two years ago I started this site

Hoping that rhymes very well might

Bring people together with different views

In a healthy forum, not like the news.

We’ve covered topics from dogs to crimes…

And seems to me we STILL need rhymes!

Hey kid, wanna joke?

Since it’s illegal to gather in groups

Comedians have had to jump thru hoops

To deliver their product to those in need

Of a good laugh to get their mind freed.

Imagine lawless comics down a dark street

Selling jokes to kids to make ends meet…

Honesty

Here’s the thing: what I really can’t stand

Is when people in charge like to demand

That everyone else must follow a rule

But they themselves are too cool for school.

I’m less concerned about the act itself

Than the moral hypocrisy on their shelf.

Hitting Snooze…?

Known as the city that never sleeps

NYC has an energy that always keeps

People coming from around the globe

To live and work and otherwise probe

The best center of culture on the map!

Let’s hope the city is just taking a nap…

Just Horrible

This can hardly come as a surprise,

The topic is quick to generate lies.

With powerful men and naïve girls

A sordid scene too often unfurls.

To think these men knew not the deal

Is simply preposterous and unreal.

Virtual Saviours

There’s not a lot to be glad about today

Things are falling apart and it’s not okay.

So who would have thought a ray of light

Could slice the pandemic’s dark of night

And help those who need community most

To manage demons and stop getting dosed.

Doggone It

He’s building nukes and a rocket launcher.

Support from tyrants couldn’t be stauncher.

His people are miserable and underfed

Leading lives in darkness, full of dread.

But this, this may be the worst of the worse…

Banning man’s best friend, such an ugly curse.

Thank You!

Kudos to the editors of the NY Post

For being integrity’s lonely host!

If Donnie wants to win a second term

Then try not to make the voters squirm

With ugly attacks on stupid topics…

Even if your base loves those optics.

Look Around…!

Perhaps it’s because of my middle age
That the last thing I want is to engage
Nonstop with screens of any size.
Or maybe it’s because life’s real prize
Is not biased news or a celebrity hook up,
But embracing the world when you look up.

Well played, Governor!

Mike DeWine is in the GOP
And is as thoughtful a person as can be.
That observation should suffice
To make me think he’d pay a price
If he met with Donnie – but what to do?
A positive test to the rescue!
