“Whatever it takes” has become the rule

So we’re tapping a new antibody pool.

Llamas have some really strong stuff

And plenty to give, more than enough.

Not to mention those fab eyelashes!

If only they could cause virus crashes.

Generally speaking, a Task Force is done

When the battle it’s fighting has been won.

But the rate of infection across the nation

Is seeing little these days but acceleration.

So disbanding the Force at this point in time

Seems more like committing a bit of a crime.

Life goes on even through a pandemic

With some human traits just plain systemic.

Happy unions of love are one such trait!

While half of them collapsing will not wait

For life to resume on its regular course…

Seems not even corona can stop a divorce.

The idea behind waging a big trade war

Is to stop things from ever reaching our shore.

Obviously we’re talking about different stuff,

But these imports from Asia, enough is enough!

First we watched Corona as it rapidly spread,

And now come hornets which can kill us dead?

It used to be when the home office setup

Would be interrupted by some getup

You’d try to cover the embarrassing gaffe

With self-deprecation and a laugh.

Now it’s normal for kids and cats to preen

All over the office, on your screen.

Out of the darkness comes some light

Regular folk doing what’s right.

When policy abandoned a vulnerable group

These Belgians leaped up off their stoop.

They did not wait for help from above

But acted on instinct of human love.

My bias is open, I cannot deny –

The Patriots suck because they lie.

They also cheat, that’s just a fact.

Seems the coaches have made a pact

To support the team no matter what

Like recruiting a rightist new wing nut.

Of all the things throughout this ordeal,

The countless ways life has become surreal,

One of the few that has started to chafe me –

Albeit a matter we can handle safely –

Is overuse of a word making me demented.

Can we please stop saying “unprecedented”?!

Perhaps I’m alone in being unaware

That cocktail hour had become rare.

Sure, the time may have moved a bit

But a drink every night is a total hit.

I didn’t know it had gone away,

So at the least, welcome back, I say!

Kids sometimes get a kind of bum rap

For being tied up within a self-centered trap.

Enter “The Makers” from down in DC

With their network of printers, in 3D!

They produced a new protective shield

And delivered thousands to doctors in the field.
