I’m with Tuck?

It’s happened one or two times before…

Usually I disagree with him to the core

But now and then he just gets it right

And offers a glimmer of hope and light.

Tuck is spot on about this slithering slime

And a democrat too is involved in the crime.

Err on side of caution

The virus spreads from tiny moist drops

That escape by a cough or sneeze and then hops

Into the air or onto a surface you touch.

But it can’t last in the air all that much

And it dies off of cardboard within a day

So order in at home and get ready to stay.

The only thing to fear

It seems like a bit of a word twist

But the lesson inside is hard to resist.

So much of life comes down to this:

It’s attitude that sends you down an abyss.

FDR once said the only threat is fear,

Jack Sparrow’s view is pretty darn near.

Simple but true

It is the single best thing you can do

To prevent the pandemic from reaching you.

It’s hard to imagine that such a simple task

Struck harder than most by this disease

Italians are finding great ways to ease

Like music arising from flowered valleys.

How things spread

“Exponential” is an interesting notion.

To growth it acts like lubricating lotion.

If attendance were to double every day

And it took ten days to fill a stadium, say,

Then guess how full it is on day nine?

Just 50 percent! Which is not a good sign…

Black cats and ladders

Who knows why we may believe?

Perhaps it’s in order to help us relieve

The pressures we feel on our soul

Or other anxieties that take their toll.

It’s always possible for things to get worse,

So why not touch wood to avoid a curse?

Uh, the usual dose?!

Gotta say a few questions are raised…
Of course innovation should be praised
Even when it happens by chance
Or when overdosing on an acid dance.
But who decides a “usual dose?!”
And 550 times? That’s not even close!

Flatten the curve

At first I thought it wouldn’t do much
To incessantly wash your hands and such…
Seemed like maybe the easiest plan
Was not to impose a big travel ban
But to get the virus in one swell shot.
Turns out slowing it down will help a lot.
