Anonymous writers are making a choice

To hide their identity but not their voice.

Sometimes they do this for their own protection

Or to try to expand their literary connection.

When what they write is just plain bad.

Which this year meant fans were in heaven.

When a black cat all of a sudden appears

Running routes down the field not seen in years.

Then New York lost, so was the cat bad luck,

If there’s one president who appeals to Donnie

It would have to be his fellow actor Ronnie

Whose simple question set politics aglow:

“Are you better off now than four years ago?”

But that might not be the current guy’s game

There’s an even split: better, worse, and the same.

I’ve heard people say he’s a “dilletante”

But honestly that just makes me want

To know what the heck that word means

‘Cuz it’s the kind of word used by college deans.

Whatever the case this news is good

He’s a lightweight dude in the wrong neighborhood.

He’s a dedicated public servant

So I don’t want to be too fervent

In showing support to have him go

And let some new blood run the show.

But Colbert is right when he points out

Joe can’t keep his foot out of his snout.

Like all things it depends on perspective

And this House vote is certainly reflective

Of the polarity we know we have today

And the feeling that things just aren’t ok.

For half the country it’s a great treat…

The other half thinks it’s a trick they will beat.

Certainly it’s a complicated situation

But I think this move will help the nation.

Lying politicians are on both sides of the aisle

And social media platforms allow them to dial

Up their ability to leave facts all wrecked.

At least this keeps that partially checked.
