Warrior Poets at Sea

One of the things that makes the world fun

Is when something unexpected is done.

And when that something includes a few rhymes

Well, then you’re in for some really good times…

What a fabulous Navy tradition

To add to its otherwise serious mission.

Doom… Gloom… and Hope!

Oh it’s so easy to sulk and to whine

To say that we’re teetering on a fine line

That all of the world is going to Hell

And we’ve fallen under some wicked spell.

And that’s true. BUT, it’s not all damnation…

There’s also a world of inspiration.

Bedside Manner

Experts can often be real annoying.

Caught up in their facts and not employing

Language that makes them understood

While wagging a finger and saying “you should…”

Always Someone Crazier

I once ran ten of them over the summer

Most people thought that was dumb or dumber.

But I enjoyed it and just thought “Why not?”

His greatest achievements are hard to select…

But even drew kind words from the President-Elect.

Be Useful

You don’t really want to feel like you’re hiding

But since all “news” sources are so deriding

And patently false, I don’t see the point

Of letting it knock your nose out of joint.

Choose what matters to you, then help that cause…

And do it for honor, not for applause.

Sex, Technically

The obsession with data is immense

Measuring everything, it gets intense.

I’ve never really warmed up to the trend

Seems like added stress with a small dividend.

Until now, that is, with this sexy news!

Data’s debut as a lover’s muse…

Merry Hanukkah!

What often is lost in religious debate

Is that Jews and Christians share the same great

God in Heaven, but how they disagree

Is whether Jesus is also the deity.

So it’s nice when holidays overlap

And we’re able to shorten this Godly gap.
