Chilling…

Here is yet another very bad sign

For we who write and otherwise opine

About the state of affairs in our world.

It would appear that as AI is unfurled

Our jobs will be taken by a canny robot.

It’s already happening, in fact quite a lot!

Seems reasonable

I don’t know if the data supports it,

But if their family or police reports it –

That someone is talking about a killing –

You’d think everyone would be willing

To have that person’s guns removed

So long as due process is also approved.

Good luck with that

So the White House did decide

That it would be better to hide

The Navy Destroyer John McCain

Instead of inflicting so much pain

On the fragile ego of our Prez.

And that’s not cool, the Pentagon says.

Kinda ironic, but still…

Hats off again to Burger King,

Which continues to do a very good thing.

Bullying sucks and they’ve taken a stand

Showing how many people don’t lend a hand.

Only 12% helped the young kid.

Of course, the piece itself is a bully-ish vid…

Because it sells…

What has happened to make this true?

For it is as evident as the sky is blue.

We’ve spent decades making life better

With compromise being the pacesetter.

I think the problem is that if you whine

And act outrageous you get the headline.

Spartans of the Arctic

Bless these Scandinavian silent types

Who eschew the small talk and little gripes

That often pepper such conversation,

Stretching the boundaries of imagination.

Too bad they feel the need to change!

Pointless chatter is what’s really strange.

Man I hope so!

Sometimes it feels like the well is dry,

And it can make an artist want to cry,

Or else to lean on drugs or the bottle

To help us push the creative throttle.

Nothing wrong with help from those cues!

But I’d sure like to believe in Maya’s views…

32 Memorial Day Quotes to honor America's fallen

Thank you…

It’s the unofficial start of summer,

But listen for the lonely drummer

Who keeps track of what freedom costs

Honoring all of the lives that have been lost.

And a special tribute to the Gold Stars

For a sacrifice surpassing all of ours.

Make the rich uncomfortable again

PJ O’Rourke has an amusing take –

We can fix income inequality if you make

Rich people dress the way they used to

In silly clothes that put a noose to

Any comfort or street-cred style.

T-shirts and hoodies have put wealth on trial!

Blurry vision

I can’t believe the country is still here

With POTUS locked in middle school gear

Tweeting nonsense and offensive bile

About politicians on the other side of the aisle.

And Speaker Pelosi doing little more

To mop the quality of discourse off the floor.
