Just as we start to head towards recession

We get bad news of further oppression.

When times get tough we all need an escape

And sometimes that’s found in the wheat or grape.

If our beer supply starts getting too strained

I’m not sure how order will be maintained!

I’ve said it before and it’s here again…

I believe that the motives of the men

Making these plans are highly suspect

But distributing migrants? That’s correct.

Political theatre plays a big role

And the nastiness does harm to the soul.

There are many lessons coming from this
And at least two that you shouldn’t miss…
First, really good news is under-reported,
Making our world seem grossly distorted.
Second, the bill that made this come to pass
Came from compromise, not being an ass.

It’s a quest that so many undertake

Never to be the feature of a wake…

But life ever after could be a drag

Unless you are youthful (and can still shag)!

And it definitely wouldn’t be much fun

If you were a jellyfish for the long run.

It’s an emotional thing, when you sell

With no guaranty that it will go well.

People come traipsing through your home

Some are for real, and some just to roam.

Mostly though, they are all there to judge…

And about that price? They want you to budge.

Ukraine is no longer fighting defense

And its effort and courage are immense.

It’s retaken land given up in the war

Something no one believed they could do before.

I hope their victories don’t inspire

Russians to come back with much more fire.

Condolences to Britain on this day

When they’ve lost a leader, but not their way.

Charles will have very large shoes to fill

As he tends to his people, and their will.

She was a keeper, that much is for sure

Let’s hope that her legacy will endure.

Let’s start with some thoughts about this notion

That someone in Florida would have devotion

To commit to a life serving others

And setting aside all of their druthers…

Do such people exist in this hot state?

Cuz it seems to be a hotbed of hate.

Okay, sure, but how new could this be?
It’s not like always throughout history
Did all people wake up and say “Oh boy!
I’m off to work yet again, what a joy!”
Has “quiet quitting” not always been there?
Or now with a name does it have more share?

I’m no economist but I don’t get
Why we believe a recession is set.
Unemployment is low, there’s cash on hand
Leftover from stimulus, high demand.
So why are there calls for a big downturn?
Is it just to sell news? I guess we’ll learn…
