Perhaps it’s now time to channel the Grinch

Since hearing this news really made me flinch.

Well, fine, cancel those titles, it’s okay –

Maybe my heart will grow ten sizes today.

But there is a question this issue begs…

Are people not worried about green eggs?!

Not long ago there was a man who said

Be careful with canceling those who led

In ways considered disdainful to some

Because for sure one day the time will come

When men like Lincoln are cast to the dump!

It pains me to say that the man was Trump…

I definitely need a little help with this one.

It’s not my style to want to dismiss one,

But it seems to me that she’s got a point.

Don’t want to knock people out of joint,

But even if you support transgender rights

Won’t playing fields be tilted to unfair heights?

It’s hard to imagine being more tone deaf

Than going to the restaurant of a known chef

Where meals can be 500 bucks per person

While saying that the pandemic can worsen

By going to restaurants, and you don’t heed it.

Terrible leadership, at a time when it’s needed.

It’s not hard to understand this perspective

And to question whether lockdown is effective.

This man has a perfectly reasonable view

The pandemic is legit but it’s also true

That the carnage created by closing shop

Will force many businesses simply to stop.

I grew up with Aunt Jemima and Uncle Ben

And am hard-pressed to think of a time when

I saw those images and a thought came to mind

That was anything other than grateful and kind.

Is this really how we’re going to end racial strife…

Or is it possibly just taking yet another black life?

Hats off again to the New York Post

And its ability to give us readers the most

Raw and humorous bits of insight

Even if they haven’t always been right.

But now New York is burning, the city is wrecked

And the mayor just wants to be politically correct.

Middle Eastern peace has long been elusive

So Donnie has every right to be effusive.

I am by no means an expert on the region

But the challenges there have been legion.

To broker peace with Israel and its neighbors

Is sweet fruit indeed from his labors.

Why is this story considered news,

And trying to cast unfavorable views?

Is it such a stretch of the imagination

That a cop would respond to a situation

Sometimes with fun, and it succeeded,

And sometimes with force as was needed?

Okay, yes they have the protected right

To burn the flag and religion every night.

But it does make me stop and ask why.

If you’re really concerned by how many die

It seems there are more productive ways

Than burning sacred symbols in a blaze.
