Lifting these sanctions is such a good call.

Syria’s back has been against the wall.

And it did the right thing overthrowing

A tyrant who had the country going

All to Hell and now it needs a hand…

A chance at greatness… it’s a good command.

So long as it’s gifted to the US

And not to Trump which would be a big mess

I agree it sort of makes sense to take.

But a real problem I think it would make

Is that there would be huge safety concerns…

Though it seems to be an issue Trump spurns.

I agree with Trump on this decision

And it shouldn’t cause any division.

We won the wars for our foreign allies

We should celebrate too, we earned the prize.

And maybe having this celebration

Will remind Trump why we’re a great nation.

RFK Jr. has a good question

Though seems to stop short of a suggestion.

But if people knowingly harm their health

Should they lay claim to our collective wealth?

For sure we hop on a slippery slope

But worth a shot if we manage the scope.

Let’s say the government looked like us…

We’d be throwing ourselves under the bus.

Year in and year out spending more than we earn

With entitlements by far the largest burn.

So something drastic really must be done,

But the real change we need hasn’t even begun.
